"Diversity" was the take away message from the Weed Resistance meeting sponsored by Merschman Seeds on January 11, 2011 at Riverside Casino & Golf Resort featuring world renown weed scientist, Dr. Stephen Powles from the University of Western Australia and a top U.S. weed scientist, Dr. Ford Baldwin from Austin, Arkansas.

Drs. Stephen Powles and Ford Baldwin addressed a massive audience about the issues surrounding weed resistance and what farmers in the North can do today to fight off this prevalent problem that has already consumed the Mid-South. A potential loss of $200 per acre is worth changing your habits and farming practices today because weed resistance to the Roundup® system is a matter of when, not if. If what you are doing today works, then change it, otherwise you will find yourself succumbing to this problem, and folks increasing your rates of Roundup® is NOT the solution.
